On this unusual summer season, with regional lockdowns and closed borders, I many occasions recalled earlier travelling to Europe to shoot initiatives or races, and was actually lacking new journeys. So many plans for this season had been placed on maintain – HuckFest in Norway, Megavalanche, coasting the European bike parks. I did not have a lot of a selection and spent the entire season within the Sochi bike park. Ideas of going someplace once more with a motorbike continually haunted me. By the tip of August, I made a decision to go to Elbrus. And in October, we had been there, able to movie.
Right here I entered my first ever race within the mountains – the Russian Cup in 2014, and in 2015 we had been filming a freeride film right here with the RideThePlanet venture. From that second on, I had a dream to return right here and experience the Wolf’s Gate at full velocity. That is for certain the most effective factor that has occurred to me within the final 12 months! I’m stoked with what we have achieved.
Right now, the Elbrus area turned out to be very harsh and chilly surroundings with unpredictable climate. There was lots of wind and rain throughout filming. We barely made it – as the subsequent day we completed taking pictures, the mountain was coated in snow. In fact, some concepts not realized, one thing was left behind in sketches. Possibly it is for good – to return right here stronger and quicker subsequent 12 months.
