“Desires” earned 16.1 million US streams within the week ending Oct. 15, in accordance with Billboard.
The hit from the group’s “Rumours” album reached the highest spot on the Billboard Sizzling 100 chart in 1977.
It began when Idaho Falls resident Nathan Apodaca posted a clip of himself in early October, sipping cranberry juice and lip synching to “Desires” as he skateboarded down the road after his automobile broke down on the way in which to work. The video went viral and Apodaca was gifted a truckload of Ocean Spray.
“We love this!” the band tweeted once they noticed his publish.
TikTok has capitalized on the pattern by making a TV industrial from the unique video and its knockoffs, which ran throughout Main League Baseball playoffs.
