Disney’s live-action “Mulan” is out on Disney Plus and in choose theaters and it has the stamp of approval from the animated film’s co-director. 

“I believed [director] Niki Caro did a terrific job of bringing Mulan to life, to actual life right here in live-action,” Tony Bancroft advised Insider in March

Just like the 1998 movie, the live-action film follows Mulan as she takes her father’s place in conflict to guard the emperor from a vengeful group of outsiders led by Bori Khan (Jason Scott Lee). 

In contrast to its predecessor, the brand new movie does away with fan-favorite Mushu in favor of a phoenix and ditches nearly all of songs from the movie. After viewing the movie in March, Bancroft advised Insider he was proud of most of the movie’s adjustments. His favourite second included a shock cameo close to the film’s finish.
