Alabama put in one other two-hour follow in helmets and shoulder pads for its fourth follow of fall camp, working outside on the Thomas-Drew Apply Fields on Saturday.
Previous to follow No. 4, cornerback Patrick Surtain II and large receiver Jaylen Waddle spoke to reporters by way of Zoom. Each juniors mentioned they didn’t give a lot thought to opting out.
“I wasn’t considering it very heavily,” Surtain mentioned. “I wanted to be out there with my teammates and play this year because we have a lot to prove this season. I feel it was best for me to play this year, get out some extra film and get another opportunity to play with the guys.”
Added Waddle, “I honestly never thought about opting out. I wanted to be here for my team and wanted to just get out there and compete.”
