MESA, Arizona – Newly launched body-camera footage confirmed two Mesa, Arizona law enforcement officials scrambling to rescue a person pinned beneath a automobile.
The incident occurred Tuesday morning when a person was apparently working beneath a automobile when the jack collapsed, sending the automobile onto his chest.
Devon Haycock was utilizing two jacks to prop up his spouse’s automobile to make some repairs. When one of many jacks failed, the car fell onto Haycock, pinning his face to the bottom and coming to relaxation on his chest.
“The whole time my face was pinned right behind the wheel well so I could see my wife the whole time panicking. And it was awful, the whole time just saying I love you. It’s okay. I love you. I’m fine,” Haycock remembers. “Just trying to keep her calm. It was the worst time ever.”
